what you'll need >>
1 large bowl of freshly popped popcorn
11/8 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 stick butter
1/4 tsp salt {unless your popcorn is already salted}
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
^^^by the end of it, we were just a little hungry^^^
1. pop a large bowl of popcorn. about 1/2 cup of kernels.
2. mix the next 4 ingredients together in a sauce pan over medium-high heat. boil for 2-3 minutes. remove from heat & add the milk & vanilla. return to heat & keep stirring just until the mixture begins to slightly boil again. then remove from heat.
3. pour the hot carmel sauce over the popped popcorn & mix!
4. serve warm or allow it to cool a bit. after cooled the carmel corn is still nice & chewy, so feel free to save some for later!
if you feel like your carmel sauce is too thick or there is just too much of it, just pop a bit more popcorn & add it to the mixture. another yummy addition would be some chopped peanuts or any other kind of nut.
